is an objective view on how all 120 Division 1 NCAAF teams should stack up with the oddsmaker contigent. Not listed is the myriad of variables I use to base how the teams could compare in a predictive mode, as this is not a predictive type calculation, but only to display how the oddsmakers should treat the field of 120 when giving precedence to who is the best to worst in assigning pointspread numbers. My Prestige Pecking Order is a public perception gauge, which gets adjusted as the season wears on, this sample is merely just the top 30 as the skewering factor does come into play when dealing with "mediocre" to "non-descript" football programs. The Diffy Adjustment Supplement is an algorithm I use to display how effective a team is performing to the pointspread given to their games thus far this season. Just about every power rating list/poll/"Letterman's top 10", etc. has Oklahoma and Florida as the top 2 teams regardless if it's related to gambling or just sheer popularity; hence the BCS lucks out from avoiding an onslaught of "the system is too flawed, where's our playoff , damnit!" backlash. Before running the #s after last weekend's results, I would've thought for sure Oklahoma would've been favored by at least 3 if not more, surprised that Florida got the upperhand on the consensus (LVSC had Florida edging out Sooners in their final poll, while i have Okie on top by a whisker), and again not sure that just running up the points should be a reward. But Sooners played the same calibre competition as Gators, and the most respected source I get Strength-of-Schedule #s from gives the edge to Oklahoma as having to climb a tougher hill opponent-wise.
