Brady joins Montana & Bradshaw...Eli one ups big brother
Peyton. The two big storylines that will be on the line as Patriots-Giants
clash in a rematch of 4 years ago @ LucasOil in Indy this Sunday. With
a lot of legacy on the line (and you have to wonder also if Belichik can
climb into that Lombardian class, while Coughlan may have a Canton enshrinement
if he can come out on top), this becomes a cluttered picture of who can
rise to the top to grab the Silver pigskin trophy. One would wonder why
a team with a 12-4 ledger is just a slight favorite over an 8-8 team that
barely squeaked into the postseason picture, but what-have-you-done-for
me-lately should have a lot to do with it. This postseason picture that has been canvassed,
prepped and now ready for the final overcoat
looks harrowingly mirrored to the 2007-8 display, as the Gmen had to go on a late December scramble
to ensure themselves entrance to the "dance". The Patriots were trying to write history, as they were pitching a
perfecto thru the regular season for first time in over 3 decades, and needed just go through the motions in the big game versus
the 12 point Giant dog, but Giants came up gigantic in a defensive scrum and pulled out a thrilling 17-14 upset.
Again, the Gmen had to sneak in the back door to the dance arena on the final day of the 2011 season to become eligible,
but here they are after a 24-2 blasting of Atlanta, a convinceing 37-20 drubbing of reigining champ Green Bay @ Lambeau, and huge
defensive clampdown @ the favored 49er yard to get the Supe ticket to face a mighty Pats team who want to ensure their
dynastical status of the 2000s. Both teams had defensive injuries and outages throughout the campaign, but now
their preferred units are back and looking to disprove the statistical wares wrong of the regular season. Big factors loom in our decision
process of what will happen- this was not an easy SuperBowl to prognosticate as the opening line warranted ( we at first
had Pats rated higher, but looking inside the hood, felt both oddsmaker lines were fair), and we are treading
with care. Record setting tight end Bob Gronkowski's ankle ailment has got to be a concern for the Pats, as Brady will have
to rely heavily on downfield opportunities from Wes Welker, and adjust the trickery strategy involving Jess Hernandez
running the ball from the tight end slot. All the Gmen really have to do is ride on Eli's 3rd down mastery that
has been succesful in their late season run, and pose threatening atmosphere of aerial attacks to the trio of Cruz-Nicks-Manningham
, and this should be a continuance of New York's confidence. Now that they have Bradshaw healthy running the ball while
Jacobs has improved on his early season sluggishness, couple in Brady could have to scurry for dear life to avoid getting his brains
handed to him by the slaughtering Giant pass-rush, this then could be a no-brainer? We advise a conservative one unit play on New York +3 , and a slight look
at going with the unders of 55! Good luck, and have fun and be safe on Sunday!
